My Relaxation Experience
Have you ever experienced the relaxation of a Nordic spa?
I’m very thankful to my husband and my mom for giving me the Nordic Spa experience for my birthday!
And what an experience it is!
At the spa, each person is allowed to move freely through the spa. No one tells you how long to stay, or when to go. You leave when you feel this deep sense of calm.
A wood burning fire pit . The enormous hot tubs and cold tubs, towering rocks, waterfalls, relaxation rooms, eucalyptus steam rooms and Finnish sauna’s are the exact recipe for relaxation.
Sometimes it may seem impossible to relax and constant feelings of exhaustion, stress, and frustration arise when we are faced with all of the things to do and responsibilities to fulfill.
We would rather watch another Netflix episode, movie or show, right?!
What if you did the following instead?
- Put on the “Fireplace for your Home” on Netflix
- Sit or lay comfortably (or even on a walk)
- Use a meditation guide online (like a YouTube video) to calm your mind
How does the idea of participating in this relaxation practice feel?
Putting it into practice will only take you 20 minutes.
If you look at your day, when do you have 20 minutes for this practice?
Consider practicing it at the start or end of your day.
How do you think you will feel after doing this each day on the weekend? Do you feel 20% better? What is that 20% worth in your life? Is it worth your time?
Set a practice time you know you can accomplish. And if 20 minutes is too long to start with, try 15 minutes instead!
Can you build your own mindfulness practice?
Relaxation, and peace are choices that exist even in the the most trying of times. When pain and suffering exists, we come to understand how we have internalized the situations we experience.
